1. What the site is, and isn't

LakeLevelToday republishes water levels and related readings that federal and state agencies and lake operators publish, such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Bureau of Reclamation, the U.S. Geological Survey and the Texas Water Development Board. Every figure shows its source and the time the source gives for it. See About the data for where each number comes from. No agency or operator endorses LakeLevelToday.

It is not an official warning source. Readings can be delayed, provisional, revised by the agency, or wrong. Never rely on LakeLevelToday for flood warnings, boating or swimming safety, or any decision where safety is at stake. For warnings, check the National Weather Service and the lake's operator. We don't say whether a lake, ramp or beach is safe or open unless the operator publishes it, and then we quote the operator.

2. Who can use it

LakeLevelToday is intended for people in the United States. If you are under 18, use it with the permission of a parent or guardian.

3. Our content and how you may use it

The agency data we show is public. The way we select, combine and present it, and our text, design and code, belong to Northwoods Ventures LLC. You may quote individual figures and short passages with a link back to the page. You may not copy the site in bulk, scrape it, republish substantial parts of it, or use it to build a competing product without our written permission. For the underlying data, go to the agencies, which publish it for everyone.

4. Ads and links

Some pages may show ads. Advertisers are independent third parties, and an ad is not an endorsement. Ads never change the readings we publish. Sites you reach through an ad or a link are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use LakeLevelToday to break the law, to interfere with or overload the site, to scrape or copy our content in bulk, to impersonate anyone, or to misrepresent our figures or where they came from. We may limit or end access for any of these.

6. Disclaimers and limits on our liability

THE SITE, AND EVERYTHING ON IT, IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, TIMELINESS, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. READINGS MAY BE LATE, PROVISIONAL OR WRONG. YOU USE THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, NORTHWOODS VENTURES LLC AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROPERTY, PROFITS, INCOME, OR DATA, ARISING FROM THE SITE, ANY FIGURE ON IT, OR ANY THIRD PARTY YOU REACH THROUGH IT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100). Some states do not allow some of these limits, so some may not apply to you.

You agree to defend and hold Northwoods Ventures LLC harmless from claims arising from your use of the site, your breach of these terms, or your dealings with any third party you reach through it.

7. Changes and ending the service

We may change these terms. The effective date appears at the top of this page. Continued use after a change means you accept it. We may change, suspend, or end any part of the site at any time.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut, to whose jurisdiction you consent.
